My Aviation Experience
In 1972 earned my BS Degree in Aerospace Technology from Kent State University.
For several years thereafter I flew fighter attack aircraft in the Marine Corps. I
have Commercial, Multi Engine, and Instrument FAA pilot ratings. I have been
a designated FAA accident prevention counselor. I am qualified on aircraft
carriers and I have flown just about every type of aircraft, but my real love is for the older “tail draggers”
I once flew a Taylorcraft from Lockhaven Pa. to Camarillo Ca. during the dead of winter.
Yes it was slow and cold.
For several years I managed a Fixed Base Operation and flight school at the Camarillo
Airport. I was a dealer for Taylorcraft
aircraft. I also did aircraft appraisals.
Airport Engineering.
Several years ago, I managed the reconstruction of a local commercial airport.
Aviation Law
The main source for aviation law is federally based. The FAA licenses pilots, aircraft and aviation facilities. The FAA and the NTSB investigate accidents.
States are prohibited from regulating pilots and aircraft. States are not prohibited, however, from enacting consistent
laws, or from altering existing remedies under state law. For example, the sale
of an aircraft will be governed by the law of contracts, and personal injury by the law of torts.
I am an aviation savvy attorney. I know the ins and outs of the industry. If
you have a legal issue that involves aviation, give me a call.
